Why I Love Crochet
I don’t know how i fell in love with yarn. When I was a little girl my great grandmother decided to teach me to make a granny square. I spent most of my time running around the house getting in to all kinds of trouble. Mostly digging in the refrigerator in a jar of olives or pickles. This was her way of getting me to sit. My grandma always had a project for me. I would come to her house during school vacations. As I grew older she would show me something she had bought that she wanted me to make for her fund raisers. I could copy anything that was crocheted. I guess that’s how this happened. Me making things because It keeps me busy. Follow along and I will teach you to crochet. Oh yeah, did I mention I am left handed?
Two Skeins/balls of yarn = 3 projects

My daughter bought me some yarn for Christmas. I couldn’t decide what I wanted to make with it. Do you ever have yarn that is so beautiful or special you are saving it for the perfect project? I think that is always the case but this was a brand new line of yarn from the Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond. I had the yarn for a year and then decided to make a bag thats basically a long rectangle, which then led to a granny square bag, (i have made this before), and then to a granny square pouch. I literally only had scraps left. It was so fun I decided to share it. If you are left handed then you will enjoy finally having some videos to follow. Lets get started.

Slouchy Bag
[]
The Slouchy Bag is a small shoulder bag with a short strap to wear on one shoulder. This design makes it easy to grab on the go when you don’t need to carry a bunch of stuff of the day. you can make the strap longer into a cross body to fit your needs. the purse is worked in one long piece. It is in the shape of a rectangle. The strap is added once the purse is finished. This makes it easy to adjust the length that you need. You can also add a strap from an old purse if you would rather do that. Also you can sew in a liner and a crocheted clasp to hold the purse closed in the center on top. I made this with a multi-color (variegated) yarn. I like the way it turned out and is adda a variety of outfits you can match it to. Granny Square Bag

#GRANNYSQUAREBAG
The Granny Square bag is a small shoulder bag with a short strap to wear on one shoulder. This design makes it easy to grab on the go when you don’t need to carry a bunch of stuff for the day. You can make the strap longer into a cross body to fit your needs.
The purse is worked as 15 granny squares. If you want a larger bag than all you have to do is make the granny squares larger by adding an extra round to fit the size you think you need. The strap is added once the purse finished. This makes it easy to adjust the length that you need. You can also add a strap from an old purse if you would rather do that. Also you can sew in a liner and a crocheted clasp to hold the purse closed in the center on top. I made this with a multi-color (variegated) yarn. I liked the way the colors turned out and it adds a variety of outfits you can match it to.

Granny Square Pouch

The Granny Square pouch is a little bag made up of two granny squares sewn together and a zipper. This is a super quick and easy project. I like to put this pouch in a big bag to hold small items like my lipstick, my ID , some hand sanitizer and even my cell phone. This is useful so my small items don’t get buried in a larger bag. The zipper keeps the items safe and secure.
